Hello! I'm Gina and I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist focused on how I can help others achieve their goals. I believe that through finding your authentic self and being able to be transparent in that as well as communication, you can be at your healthiest state.
Sounds oddly specific, right? Suprisingly, it's not. This means that I operate from a systems perspective so rather than only focusing on one person or problem, I look at how all of the systems you are apart of impact your life and you impact them in return. Essentially, we look at how to make the entire machine run more smoothly rather than only focusing on one part that may or may not be what's causing the current stress on it.
It is NOT sitting on a chaise lounge while I scroll notes down. For me, therapy is first and foremost about therapeutic relationship and opening up the lines of trust between me and my clients. I then use techniques from various modalities including experiential therapy, emotionally focused therapy, narrative therapy, and Gottman approaches. I don't believe therapy is a one size fits all and I'm consistently learning about new techniques and ways to help.
Believe it or not I get this question...a lot. To be honest, I'm not sure I ever take the "therapist glasses" off but when I'm not actively working I love spending time with my husband, our two sons, and our massive extended families. I'm a total foodie and could probably talk for multiple sessions about my Real Housewives obsession.
